J A N A   G E Y E R 

 

Jana is originally from Brooklyn, NY. She did some modeling as a kid and when high school came around she developed acne. When this happened she was determined to hide it and continue modeling and acting. She would stay up all night figuring out the best way to cover her blemishes and how to make it look natural. She succeeded and everyone always complimented her on her glowing skin (thanks bronzer).

 

It was a long journey with bad skin, but when puberty ended so did the acne. Jana still stayed up all night but this time playing around with color, shadows and lipstick. It was a natural obsession and it was fun. In college she studied Musical Theatre and did all of her own theatrical makeup. She pursued her B.F.A in Theatre Arts. After college she did a few National Tours, of course doing her own makeup.

 

After touring nationally she was tired of living out of a suitcase and getting older, she decided to find "steady work"... as she used to say. Living in a tiny NYC apartment without windows and deciding which meal of the day she would skip so she could save money just wasn't the lifestyle she wanted. She started working in the Event Planning industry, meeting many interesting people and discovering that she was quite the business woman. During this drastic career transition she continued to perform locally and do makeup. She had done makeup for many brides and bridal parties, local fashion shows and for New York City's Beauty Night Out Fashion/Trunk Shows taking place in the famous Puck Building.

 

She continued to pursue Event Planning making her way up into a Corporate Executive Sales Position with Hilton Hotels. The fast paced, business world was appealing and it continues to excite her today.  Her career as an Event Planner in NYC turned Hotel Sales Manager in Detroit and then Boston has again taken another turn. Jana is now a mother to a vibrant little girl that makes her love life more than ever. She is currently living in Chicago with her husband and daughter, she is taking a break from the Hotel industry for a bit. Jana does continue to work as a freelance make-up artist as it is her favorite time allowing her to be creative, which is what she truly lives for.
